A list of municipal focused studies, and of course a willingness to work with community & council on topics of high priority.
Outside studies at the municipal level I will promise residents to use the full mayoral powers to look into matters brought to my attention to bring about better outcomes, though in that I believe for the most part residents have had a far better experience with municipal here, I can attest to such, granted having a rough time interacting with other parts myself, regardless I wish to see residents have good experiences with any interaction with government employees.
Study our municipalities voting methods:
• I believe the layout & method for say the police stations (building vote) on their budget could be improved on, either through adding additional methods for citizens to interact on gathering votes (multiple ways), to looking at the ratio set out presently & modifying results from the simple yes/no or reversed, to yes, more study necessary, no, could also lay criteria based on projected budget. Would consider strengthening democratic participation a bigger focus to ratio adjustments based around various criteria & write reports on such.
Municipal newsletter & website studies:
• Various aspects some of which tie in to voting, studying what can be improved on to the website regarding interacting with residents, along with increasing options & topics present in the news letter, keeping much of what is already there, maybe just cycling some new aspects in more of place of what is currently present.
Municipal meetings policy studies:
• With the olde adage of I may not agree with what one says, but will defend ones right to say it, there are other aspects I think we as a community could look to improve offering a place for residents to partake in discourse, like we have a new community board just outside the library, and it's a good way to advertise events or causes, though outside of taking that further, getting it right with regard to regulation on such things, means a whole lot to me, will offer studies & reports on various considerations, but focused on improving residents experiences.
Municipal permits, bylaw, & fees studies:
• I think traditions like a summer cleaning/garage sales or selling baked goods/lemonade should be a bit more removed from a ticket structure that may or may not count as revenue, and sorta comes from a need to have a punishment for like littering, my concern for such more comes from random news articles of outlier scenarios being taken too far in other parts. Happy to study our standing & literature around such & write reports on potentially new perspectives or innovation that simply makes things easier for people, would look to study & write many reports on various aspects.
Municipal zoning studies:
• I think there is huge room for improvement to what is present, studying such more and writing various reports on differing aspects & seeing what can be done, one of the more interesting topics on the municipal level I consider I probably look at it vastly differently then most, and with all the troubles of the day, this might be able to mend some difficulties.
Hostile architecture & various types of regulation studies:
• I don't so much believe in designing things to force outcomes especially in hostile ways, more because I think both awareness & innovation can generally either get similar results or as with regard to innovation outpace & tremendously improve the scenario trying to be addressed.
Road safety & quality studies:
• I was a bit late myself to focusing on the bike lane topic, noticed a survey being conducted by our council, and in that regard, happy to see ones focused on community perspective as well would be grateful to see municipal staff survey any various aspect that could better meet safety concerns, I came up with a lot of new designs & methods we could approach bike lanes and road safety in general, I need to catch up a bit more on what our council has considered outside of what I proposed, though I have no trouble writing reports on such topics to do with near every aspect of the roads, and trying to get more feedback from the community.
Will be updated further in due course, parsing studies based on level of government and field, though I will try to present such in say a meaningful way, order of priority might not exactly line up, mostly due to topic study time & all the other goings on.
